Dubai

Not a lot is going on right now, life is the same, day in day out so I thought I´d take a moment to think about how we are doing here in Dubai. I have to say that its better than I originally expected and Im happy we did make the move. The job situation in Malta seems fairly stable right now thanks to a lease of crew to another airline but that is for now and my gut feeling is still that the government have no intentions of saving AirMalta and therefore we wouldnt have felt safe and happy had we still been there. Dubai might feel a bit big and exaggerated sometimes but Im happy here, the kids are enjoying their schools and Im so happy they both got into DESS. R enjoys his job though he might feel that he is learning a bit too much about the indian geography ;) (Its well known in the pilot community that the Airbus 330 do "all" Emirates tough night flights to India). To be perfectly honest I do think its nice to have gotten further away from the in -laws, I feel so much freer lighter without their constant checking up on us, worrying and stressing out about visiting them. The only negatives I can see right now would be that I still need to make friends (and it seems to be really hard!) plus its further away from sweden which means its harder for the family to visit. They have to pay more AND need to spend more time away than they used to as now 2 whole days are lost travelling.
