Since I had the over on for baking ftira and cooking chicken for tomorrow´s pie I decided to make some chocolate chip cookies for the b´fast/coffee morning Im hosting on tuesday. Did them glutenfree so I can enjoy one too and they came really good! I used this Martha Stewart receipe.

A was playing games on BBC today, one of his favourites is "I can cook game". Its really no surprise, he loves it when he gets to help out in the kitchen. In the game today he baked shortbread cookies and asked me if we could make them for real and I said yes why not so right now kids went to Spinneys with R to buy the ingredients we need. Apart from that while disucssing the swedish bfast morning Im hosting next week (same day R returns from Malta for the last time) and R suggested to serve some maltese ftira I thought it was a great idea however we both concluded it wouldnt stay good overnight. Then I googled to find a receipe and lo and behold, I found one so now Im preparing the "biga" (similar to sourdough) to try my hand at baking ftira tomorrow. It will take some time but Im hoping it will pass the test!

Both my dad and my childhood friend came by. What a lovely way to end the holiday!

 

Right now Im at Kettlebells class. What a lovely and fun way of doing exercise!

 

Our travelling actually went much better than I expected. The train ride was ok once I found space for the luggages. No rush at the airport so we got rid of our luggages and went to eat lunch. When we got to the burger place I saw some ppl in jackets saying swedish hockey something but I didnt think more about it. When we were eating I heard lots of spraying so I turned to look and I saw one of those ladies spraying on flowers. Didnt make sense but she kept on spraying and spraying. Then I saw that one was cutting small papers and the man was putting them on the flowers. Didnt have to think long until I realised that it must mean that the swedish junior hockey team was returning with their silver from the world cup! Thought it´d be rather cool to get some photos and since we werent rushed we decided to go and wait for them. Here are the photos I got

 

 

Today we spent the morning in Creek Park with three other families. Beautiful and lovely day!

 

It was time for the first football practice for 2013 today....J was not really taking part, she told me she was afraid cause she hadnt played in a long time. Thankfully they have a good coach that took her by the hand and eventually she enjoyed it. Unfortunately though one of the boys then pushed her in the face when they were playing match. It was not nice at all, the ball was far away so it definately wasnt in the heat of the game but the coach didnt see and the parent that did see did nothing about it. They sat next to me and I understood they thought J was over reacting when she went "oouuuccch". Bloody indians! R has to practice a bit with her this week so she will be comfortable for next week!

 

 

 

Something happened to my poor toe...not sure what happened at my Kettlebells class yesterday. I didnt do anything in particular with the toe and I didnt drop a kettlebell on it but all of a sudden it started hurting and now its blue and swollen. Wondering if its broken? Not sure it shows well in the photo but this is what it looks like.

 

Tomorrow we plan a trip to Creek Park and today we baked some muffins for it.

 

Thursday means short day at school so we went to the playground with the best friends.

 

Last day in Sweden for this time....It started really good, the kids helped me clean a bit around the house after bfast and then my childhood friend and her son came to play, my dad also came by for a bit. Now Im seated in the arm chair watching skiing and later some icehockey. Freezing and shivering but I think its all travelfever. Did get a quilt and some tea though, hoping I can warm up a bit.

 

 

Im thinking and hoping that 2013 will be a good year. It sure has every possibility for it. Here is what we have to look forward to:

 

Jan: R´s brother, sister in law and nephew will visit us in Dubai

 

March: Visit from my mum and hopefully a trip to London (if R gets his leave!)

 

April: Easter holidays

 

June: Last day of school

 

July: Summer holidays begin, Sweden via Malta and Robbie Williams concert

 

August: Holiday in Malta with R

 

 

 

 

Most bloggers seem to sum up 2012 but I think I will just share this photo instead....its pretty indicative to my failures this year and the years before that

 

 

 

Its soon time to go home. Like every other time its with mixed feelings. We miss R, the kids miss their friends from school and I cant wait to feel well and start exercising again. On the other hand Im not at all looking forward to the flight...how will I keep the kids happy for 7 awake hours? This trip has passed extremely quickly and I feel like I havent had time to do anything or see anyone. Have seen my dad two, maybe three times and my childhood friend barely at all and time is running out! I guess I have to hope for better luck in summer....
